Suzanne Smeaton Gallery Managing Director
Suzanne Smeaton has been a framer of fine art for over 30 years and has worked for Eli Wilner & Company for 22 years. She has worked extensively in the field of American period frames: written articles for publications such as The Magazine Antiques and American Art, the journal of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, lectured to museum groups across the country, researched and written videos, presented at numerous symposiums, worked with curators of the frame exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Parrish Museum, and has curated many other museum frame exhibitions in her work for Eli Wilner & Company. Suzanne has lectured for Christie's, Sotheby's American Arts Course, the Appraiser's Association of America, the American Society of Appraisers, and continues to lecture frequently to museum audiences on the subject of American picture frames; she was an adjunct professor for the NYU Appraisal Studies Program for 10 years and has been a member of Art Table since 2000.
Suzanne contributed an essay on artist-designed frames and coordinated the compilation of The Gilded Edge the Eli Wilner & Company book on American frames published by Chronicle Books in October of 2000. Suzanne has been focusing on American frame research projects and comprehensive frame surveys for public, private and corporate art collections.
Recent projects include essays on American frames for two museum exhibition catalogs: Life’s Pleasures: The Ashcan School’s Brush With Leisure 1895–1925 organized by the Detroit Institute of Arts and Auspicious Vision: Edwin Wales Root and American Modernism an exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Edwin Root Bequest to the Munson-Williams Proctor Art Institute.

Kevin Flaherty Gallery Director
Kevin Flaherty has been at Eli Wilner & Company for the past 19 years. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from St. John's University, New York and his Master of Fine Arts degree from Queens College, City University of New York.
He is a Gallery Director and is responsible for helping to select appropriate period frames for clients as well as fitting the artwork using archivally correct materials and procedures.
Kevin contributed an essay on picture frames and the glossary and line drawing illustrations for The Gilded Edge, the Eli Wilner book published by Chronicle Books in 2000. He also contributed drawings for Antique American Frames Identification and Price Guide published by Avon Books in 1995.
